History in Bad Mergentheim

As the story goes, Ludwig van Beethoven lived here in Bad Mergentheim for a short while. He used to come to this area regularly to preform in the castle here. He was inspired by the architecture and a woman. He was originally going to stay here for four days and that turned into six months. I guess that this was in 1791, around the time that Beethoven was looking to meet with Mozart. Whether they met or not is still a mystery, but I do know that Beethoven and Mozart were both in this area in 1791. The neatest thing about this story is that they both were drawing inspiration from the town I am currently in. And with the sounds of the huge church bells ringing from all around and the people playing instruments in the streets, I can see how this town is so inspiring.
